HBO Max has revealed the first footage from “House of the Dragon,” the upcoming prequel spin-off of its big-budget fantasy smash “Game of Thrones”.
The story unfolds two centuries before the events of ‘Thrones’ when House Targaryen ruled and the Targaryen civil war known as the ‘Dance of Dragons’ is about to unfold.
Matt Smith’s Prince Daemon Targaryen narrates the teaser trailer which showcases a few scenes from the series which has a ten-episode first season. Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Graham McTavish, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, and Gavin Spokes also star.
Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal will serve as co-showrunners on the series and will executive produce with George R. R. Martin and Vince Gerardis.
The trailer was revealed as part of a launch event for HBO Max in Europe, and the series will get underway on the streamer in 2022.
