Though it’s known for its multiplayer and live service games from “FIFA” to “Battlefield,” Electronic Arts has occasionally dabbled in big-budget single-player titles to some good success when they get it right.

One of the most famous examples was the “Mass Effect” trilogy and this May’s remaster of that in the form of “Mass Effect: Legendary Edition” has apparently gone over well with the money men in charge.

Speaking on a post-earnings call this week, EA CEO Andrew Wilson has revealed that launch sales for the collection were “well above” the publisher’s expectations though wouldn’t get into exact figures. “Mass Effect: Legendary Edition” quickly became BioWare’s most popular game ever on Steam.

Wilson also touched upon “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” which came to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 during the last quarter. He says “we are continuing to invest in both of these franchises, as well as more of our amazing IP.”

That likely refers to the new “Mass Effect” game currently in the works at BioWare and a rumored “Fallen Order” sequel.

Finally, EA also confirmed that the “Dead Space” reboot is “a little ways out” but added that: “it was one of the most demanded titles, just after Skate, and the response was very positive that we’re back in development.”
