Blackaf Series Ends Movies To Begin
Netflix

“Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris’ single-camera Netflix comedy series “#blackAF,” which was renewed a year ago for a second season, will not be returning as the decision has been reversed.

The series flips the traditional sitcom family aesthetic, exploring a Black family with ‘new money’ trying to get it right in a modern world where ‘right’ is an ever-moving goalpost.

Genneya Walton, Iman Benson, Scarlet Spencer, Justin Claiborne and Ravi Cabot-Conyers co-starred in the show which was one of several series Barris developed under an overall deal at Netflix, a deal he has since exited for one at ViacomCBS.

On the brighter side of things, Barris is reportedly in early conversations with Netflix to potentially turn “#blackAF” into a comedy movie series akin to the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” titles.
