Filming has officially wrapped on Eli Roth’s film adaptation of the sci-fi video game series “Borderlands” which will open in cinemas next year.
The project’s Twitter account announced the news and used the opportunity to show off the first look, in full light, of Claptrap (aka. CL4P-TP) – a lovable robot character voiced by Jack Black.
He is described as “a general-purpose steward bot (think bulletproof Roomba with limitless knowledge but crippling anxiety).”
The film sees famed outlaw Lilith (Cate Blanchett) returning to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of powerful mogul Atlas (Edgar Ramirez). She forms an alliance with an unexpected team.
These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power.
Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenblatt, Haley Bennett, Gina Gershon, Janina Gavankar, Cheyenne Jackson, Steven Boyer and Benjamin Byron Davis also star.
Craig Mazin penned the script for the film.
Claptrap really wanted to let you all know he made it down the stairs safely. That, and the production of #BorderlandsMovie has officially wrapped! See you at the theaters in 20 pic.twitter.com/69NFljVjDc
