The official trailer has been released for the Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne-led action-thriller “The Ice Road”.
The film appears to be something of an arctic tundra spin on the basic premise of cinematic classics “The Wages of Fear” and “Sorcerer”.
After a remote diamond mine collapses in far northern Canada, a ‘big rig’ ice road driver must lead an impossible high-stakes rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped 26 miners who are running out of air.
Contending with thawing waters and a massive storm, the convoy discovers the real threat is one they never saw coming.
Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, Ray McKinnon, Holt McCallany, Matt McCoy, and Martin Sensmeier co-star.
Jonathan Hensleigh (“Breakdown”) helms the film which is scheduled to premiere June 25th.
