After more than two years linked to the role, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” actor Noah Centineo has exited the “He-Man” feature film reboot “Masters of the Universe” at Sony Pictures and Mattel Films.
Centineo had been nearing a deal to play Prince Adam/He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe who must fight the evil Skeletor to save the planet Eternia and protect the secrets of Castle Grayskull.
Collider broke the news of the exit, getting confirmation from the actor’s rep that “he is no longer attached to that project”.
Aaron and Adam Nee will write and direct the movie, which has seen numerous attempts to get going over the years. David S. Goyer wrote an early draft, as did Christopher Yost, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.
Centineo is currently filming the “Black Adam” film and is attached to star in an untitled feature about the GameStop stock story from Oscar winner Mark Boal. He also recently signed on for a Doug Liman-produced CIA spy thriller series.
