Janet Jackson Doco Set For 2022

Janet Jackson has signed on to participate in “Janet,” a two-part, four-hour authorized documentary about her life and career to be simulcast on Lifetime and A&E in early 2022.

The project is being timed to debut alongside the 40th anniversary of her self-titled debut album. Jackson of course is responsible for such songs as “Rhythm Nation,” “Nasty,” “Miss You Much,” “Black Cat,” “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” “The Pleasure Principle” and “That’s The Way Love Goes”.

Jackson will serve as an executive producer on the project which will offer “unprecedented” access and cover both her wildly successful music career and tumultuous life which has been subject to great public scrutiny.

From the deaths of brother Michael and father Joseph to her late-in-life motherhood and the 2004 Super Bowl appearance alongside Justin Timberlake who will address his complicity in Jackson’s career downturn after the infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ incident.

Workerbee have been filming the project for three years and will have access to archival footage, unseen home videos and interviews with famous contemporaries. Randy Jackson, Rick Murray and Miranda Bryant will also executive produce while Ben Hirsch serves as director.
