Reeve Carney To Play Jeff Buckley

Culmination Productions has announced that they have signed “Penny Dreadful” and “Gemini” star Reeve Carney to play late musician Jeff Buckley for “Everybody Here Wants You,” a new biopic about the young singer-songwriter.

Buckley was on the verge of breaking out big when he died in a tragic accident in 1997. At the time he was working on the songs for his second album following the launch of his acclaimed first “Grace”. His work lives on though with the musician’s cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” still frequently played to this day.

“Shadow of the Vampire” and “Control” producer Orian Williams will direct the project which will follow the life story of Buckley up to and including his passing. Dionne Jones penned the script.

The production has secured the approval of Buckley’s estate, as well as his mother and is expected to be the only official dramatization of his story which is aiming for a 2022 release. Carney is about to begin filming Ridley Scott’s “Gucci”.
