Feige Talks “Deadpool 3,” Netflix Shows

With the launch of “WandaVision” this week on Disney+, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has been out doing press rounds for the limited series which sees the studio stretch beyond the action blockbuster mold.

One project potentially on the way is the third “Deadpool” feature which was previously confirmed as aiming to retain the R-rating of its predecessors. Collider spoke with Feige this week and confirmed that not only is the rating being kept, but the foul-mouthed mercenary is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are hard at work on the script with Reynolds overseeing, and it’s likely filming won’t begin until next year:

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor.

We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Feige also spoke to Deadline and was asked about the possibility of reviving the Netflix Marvel shows like “Jessica Jones” or “Daredevil”. He has left the door open to the possibility:

“Well, certainly you’ve seen what we announced at Comic-Con a year and half ago and on Disney Investor Day a few weeks ago, so that’s our focus. But I’ve been at Marvel long enough to never say never about anything.”

The company is in the midst of filming “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Spider-Man 3” with filming on the “Doctor Strange,” ‘Black Panther” and “Captain Marvel” films also to shoot this year. Feige confirms “WandaVision” will tie into both “Doctor Strange 2” and “Captain Marvel 2”.
