“Minari” Director’s Next Setup At MGM

MGM has signed a two-year second-look film production deal with Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. As a direct result, several Plan B projects have now been set up at the studio.

The most high profile of these is a new romance drama that hails from celebrated “Minari” writer/director Lee Isaac Chung.

That film centres on a young man lost in New York City’s corporate drudgery who finds love with a beautiful young woman from Hong Kong.

Breaking up with her out of fear of settling down, he sets out on a quest to find himself only to realise he already discovered true love in her. When he returns to rekindle their romance he finds it’s too late, so he travels to Hong Kong to get her back.

Another project on the list includes an adaptation of M.T. Anderson’s dark, surreal comedy novel “Landscape With Invisible Hand” which hails from “Bad Education” director Corey Finley.
