Hulu Plans New Films From Old Fox Studios

The Disney investor day presentation continues as Hulu President Kelly Campbell has revealed that the streaming platform will expand its original film library.

Specifically new titles are set to be co-produced with newly-acquired 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures, with a promise to reveal more in the coming months. This follows in the success of festival acquisitions like “Palm Springs” and “Bad Hair” on the service this year.

In addition ESPN+ and all of its content will be available to view through Hulu, with users being able to link accounts directly. Hulu is now up to 38.8 million total subscribers, while ESPN+ is at 11.5 million.

No specifics were mentioned but with the new ‘Star’ section of Disney+ effectively becoming Hulu overseas, it’s likely elements of the Fox library of films will be incorporated into Hulu starting from when ‘Star’ goes live on February 23rd.
