HBO Max Sets Doug Liman’s “Lockdown”

Warner Bros. Pictures has made a major worldwide rights deal to acquire “Edge of Tomorrow” and “The Bourne Identity” helmer Doug Liman’s new heist movie/romantic comedy “Lockdown”.

With the deal, the project is now reportedly targeting a premiere in early 2021 as a Max Original.

Anne Hathaway, Ben Stiller, Stephen Merchant, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lucy Boynton, Ben Kingsley, Mindy Kaling and Dule Hill star in the project which was shot in London and deals with a caper that takes place during the pandemic lockdown period.

Liman is currently working out the complicated logistics of shooting the Tom Cruise in actual space movie currently in the works at Universal. Liman’s long-delayed Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley-led sci-fi film “Chaos Walking” will also debut in cinemas early next year.
