Showtime has announced that filming on the live-action series adaptation of the “Halo” video game series has resumed.
Production was shutdown for eight months due to the ongoing pandemic, but now everyone including lead star Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, are back at work on the first season ten-episode run.
The series will deal with the epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future.
The series also stars Natasha McElhone as both Dr. Catherine Halsey and Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, Bentley Kalu as Spartan Vannak-134, Natasha Culzac as Spartan Riz-028, and Kate Kennedy as Spartan Kai-125.
Otto Bathurst (“Robin Hood,” “Peaky Blinders”) directs the series which will be written by showrunner and executive producer Kyle Killen. The series is expected to premiere sometime in 2021.
