“Stranger Things” S4 Delay Was A Blessing

Filming is continuing right now on the fourth season of Netflix’s popular “Stranger Things” series, the show had just begun shooting the new episodes when the pandemic hit and shut the project down for months.

Speaking with Collider recently, executive producer Shawn Levy spoke about the impact the shut down had on the new season saying that although it was a filming setback that has definitely impacted the show’s release strategy, it had the positive effect of giving the writer’s time to improve the quality of the scripts:

“I’ll just say the pandemic definitely massively delayed shooting and therefore the launch of our current Season 4, date still TBD. But it impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever.”

All the key cast are returning for the new batch of episodes which are expected to air sometime in the back half of next year.
