“MacGruber” Series Ordered By Peacock

It’s official, NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service has handed out a series order to a comedy continuation of the “MacGruber” franchise with Will Forte set to reprise his role of the SNL character and star of the 2010 film of the same name.

Forte will also write and executive produce the series with eight episodes of the show having been ordered. The film’s creative team of director Jorma Taccone and co-writer John Solomon are also returning.

The show picks up a decade after the film with America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Forte) being released from prison after rotting behind bars all that time.

His new mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past, Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil — only to find that evil may be lurking within.
