HBO Max has snagged the worldwide rights to “Class Action Park,” the documentary feature that takes a look back at the notorious New Jersey-based Action Park through newly unearthed and never-before-seen documents and recordings, original animations, and interviews with the people who attended the theme park with its unsafe rides and often intoxicated inexperienced staff. Sabine
Screen Gems has acquired the rights to Gregg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner’s female-led elevated thriller spec “Sabine” to be produced by Shawn Levy (“Stranger Things”) and Dan Levine. The story follows an ambitious young female detective who won’t stop at anything to hunt down a serial killer. However, she then begins to see the world through her target’s eyes. [Source: Deadline]
Life in a Day
YouTube has ordered a sequel to executive producer Ridley Scott and director Kevin Macdonald’s “Life in a Day” documentary which again will stitch together hundreds of user-submitted videos from across the globe on a single date – Saturday, July 25th 2020. The project, which comes a full decade after the original, is slated to premiere at next year’s Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube in 2021. [Source: Variety]
Ready Player Two
Author Ernest Cline has announced that “Ready Player Two,” a sequel to his 2011 novel “Ready Player One” that was adapted onto film by Steven Spielberg and grossed $582 million worldwide, will debut on November 24th. [Source: Twitter]
