This week, the cast of USA Network’s “charming con artist consults for the FBI” procedural series “White Collar” are reuniting and apparently this reunion may herald a possible revival.
Today, series creator Jeff Eastin tweeted out that after a great conversation with leading man Matt Bomer, they “have a plan to bring #WhiteCollar back.” Bomer then re-tweeted that with a ‘fingers crossed’ emoji.
The talk comes as USA’s “Psych” is getting a telemovie revival for Comcast’s upcoming Peacock streaming service, could the same be happening for “White Collar”?
The series ran for six seasons beginning in 2009 and was one of their key ‘blue sky shows’ – lighthearted and breezy yet smart action or drama procedurals that often (but not necessarily) take place in sunny locales.
Others included “Burn Notice,” “Suits,” “Covert Affairs,” “Psych” and “Royal Pains” with many of these now available to stream in full on Hulu.
Other networks also got on the bandwagon with shows like NBC’s “Chuck,” ABC’s “Castle,” FOX’s “Bones” and TNT’s “The Closer,” “Major Crimes,” “Rizzoli & Isles” and “Perception” all evoking the genre.
Tomorrow’s reunion will take place on the Stars In the House YouTube channel from 8pm US-ET and includes Bomer, Tim DeKay, Sharif Atkins, Hilarie Burton, Willie Garson, Marsha Thomason and Tiffani Thiessen.
