Netflix has unveiled the full-length trailer for “Hollywood,” hit maker Ryan Murphy’s upcoming seven-episode period fantasy limited series which posits the concept of re-writing the Golden Age of Hollywood.
The series follow a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Los Angeles as they try to make it big – no matter the cost. Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day.
The series also plays with the idea of what the entertainment landscape might look like if these power dynamics had been dismantled. Darren Criss, Patti LuPone, Samara Weaving, Laura Harrier, Holland Taylor, Dylan McDermott, David Corenswet, Jim Parsons, Jake Picking and Joe Mantello co-star in the series.
Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, Alexis Martin Woodall, Darren Criss, and Janet Mock executive produce with Mock serving as a writer and director. “Hollywood” will premiere on May 1st.
