With Universal Pictures having compressed the window of film-to-VOD releases due to the coronavirus pandemic, it now looks like others are following suit.
Fandango as spotted that both Guy Ritchie’s dark comedy crime caper “The Gentlemen” and Cathy Yan’s DC Comics adaptation “Birds of Prey” will hit Digital HD early with both moving up their VOD dates to March 24th.
“The Gentleman” was originally slated to arrive April 7th, while “Birds of Prey” wasn’t expected to hit until the end of May/early June – so this is much earlier than expected.
Whilst “The Gentlemen” hasn’t changed its iTunes listings as of writing, “Birds of Prey” is priced at $19.99 to own and will be in 4K (but no mention of HDR).
