Chris Pine is attached to play John Dean, the White House counsel for President Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal, in a new untitled feature for Amazon Studios.
The story will follow the life and political saga of Dean, a man dubbed the ‘connoisseur of cover-ups,’ as he became a crucial Nixon whistle-blower by offering testimony that implicated the president in the historic cover-up.
In exchange, he served four months of house arrest and plead guilty to obstruction of justice. He’s since written numerous books and serves as a political commentator.
Evan Parter is penning the script while Billy Ray and Bob Cooper will produce. Dean himself will serve as executive producer along with his manager Rick Berg.
