Idris Elba is in talks to star in the supernatural sci-thriller “Deeper” for MGM.
Elba plays a disgraced astronaut on a deep-sea dive exploring a newly discovered trench but soon finds himself confronted by a sinister and dangerous force.
Baltasar Kormakur (“Adrift,” “Escape”) helms from a script by Max Landis (“Bright,” “Chronicle”). Bradley Cooper and Gal Gadot were linked to the project a while back but have since left.
Landis, David Goyer, Kevin Turen, Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder will produce.
