“X-Men: Apocalypse” Cut Mall Scene Online

The critics were not kind to “X-Men: Apocalypse,” the film basically dismissed for pretty much everything bar one scene – the Quicksilver explosion sequence set to “Sweet Dreams”. With the movie now hitting home video formats, several deleted scenes have started going online.

Without question the most discussed of these has been what’s dubbed ‘the mall montage’ which shows a much longer version of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Jubilee and Nightcrawler’s visit to a shopping mall. Running three minutes and set to ‘The Safety Dance,’ it’s the next best thing in the film after the Quicksilver scene which makes its excision puzzling – especially in a film dismissed for being all too serious.

In the scene, the teenage heroes realize they’re now free to be out and in the open with their powers – so they visit the mall where they play arcade games, visit record stores, breakdance and more. Check out the clip below.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” comes out on DVD and BluRay October 4th.
