Vin Diesel is set to star in the new action-comedy franchise “Muscle” for STXFilms. Specific of the plots are under wraps beyond its genre and serving as Diesel’s “next big, signature franchise,” most likely akin to the recent “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage”.
Adam Fogelson, Chairman of STXfilms, says in a statement: “I’ve known Vin for more than a decade after working closely with him on the Fast and Furious franchise and I’m excited for him to return to this genre. Muscle is the perfect blend of action and comedy that his millions of devoted fans around the world have come to love him for, and we believe has the potential to become his next big, signature franchise.”
Diesel, Samantha Vincent, Reginald Hudlin and Byron Phillips will produce but not production schedule has yet been set. It will, however, come after Diesel shoots “Bloodshot” for Sony this Summer, and then film and produce “xXx 4”. He also has a ninth “Fast and the Furious” to film in 2019.
