Amazon MGM Studios and Mel Brooks have unveiled the first poster for “Spaceballs: The New One” which is set to open in cinemas on April 23rd 2027.
The poster reveal comes ahead of the film receiving a panel at San Diego Comic Con late next week – the feature set to hold a panel in Hall H on Friday July 24th at 4pm. It also suggests a teaser trailer could potentially be coming soon.
Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga, George Wyner, and Mel Brooks return from the original, which released almost forty years ago. Brooks was 99 when he filmed scenes for the new film.
Additionally, Lewis Pullman, Keke Palmer, Josh Gad and Anthony Carrigan join in the fun this time out. Filming took place in Sydney, Australia in the latter part of last year, wrapping in December.
The project is dubbed ‘A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film’.
Josh Greenbaum (“Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” “Will & Harper”) is directing from a script by Josh Gad, Benji Samit, and Dan Hernandez.
