The 70 Most Influential VFX Movies Ever

A decade after voting a Top 50, members of the Visual Effects Society have now come together again to mark their 20th year with an expanded list of what they consider the seventy most influential visual effects films ever made.

The list, which spans more than a century, is said to represent films that have had a significant, lasting impact on the practice and appreciation of visual effects within the art of cinematic expression and storytelling.

There’s plenty of familiar director names on hand including Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Ridley Scott, George Miller and Peter Jackson and interestingly only one superhero movie. The full list is as follows:
