Filmmaker Ron Howard has confirmed that, despite all the behind-the-scenes shenanigans, the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” spin-off will be ready in time for its May 25th release worldwide.
In fact, Howard tweeted from the film’s post-production offices this weekend offering an update on where the film currently stands: “Edit is locked Score done. Right on schedule. Hope you check #Solo out and find it fun.” Howard also confirmed the film’s next trailer is almost ready and they’re reviewing some of the special effects for it.
The comments arrive as the first long-range box-office tracking for the film is out with Box Office Pro reporting that their early estimates have it set to earn $150 million in its three-day opening weekend – about on par with “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. “Solo” has the complication of opening in the more competitive mid-Summer period.
