Several more names have signed on for “Top Gun: Maverick,” the sequel to the Tom Cruise-led 1986 smash hit currently in the works at Paramount and Skydance Media.
Kara Wang (“Good Trouble”) will play one of two female pilots in the film, opposite the already announced Monica Barbaro, while Jack Schumacher (“Empire”) is also joining as a pilot.
In addition Greg Tarzan Davis (“Chicago P.D.”), Jake Picking (“Blockers”), Raymond Lee (“Mozart in the Jungle”), Jean Louisa Kelly (“Ant-Man,”) and Lyliana Wray (“Strange Angel”) are also hopping onboard.
The new faces join Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Ed Harris, Jon Hamm, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, and Manny Jacinto in the film which Joseph Kosinski directs from a screenplay by Peter Craig, Justin Marks, and Eric Warren Singer.
Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer, and David Ellison are producing “Top Gun: Maverick” which opens on June 26th 2020.
