Next Two “Halloween” Films Go Back-To-Back?

Halloween Producer Hates The Reboot Label

A new rumor from an apparently extremely reliable source for Bloody Disgusting has popped up and it’s a big one.

The site’s source indicates that following the success of last year’s “Halloween” revival/sequel, filmmaker David Gordon Green has decided to return and will direct not one but two sequels to it to be shot back-to-back.

That’s not all though, they also claim they are discussing releasing both films within the same month – suggesting a two-parter. Should that be the case then both would likely premiere in October 2020.

The 2018 film served as a direct follow-up to John Carpenter‘s 1978 slasher and ignored all of the franchise’s other sequels, continuing the story of Laurie Strode forty years later.

The site says its a rumor for now as they haven’t been able to verify the report, but the sources is trusted and the site has an excellent reputation for accuracy.

There were discussions about shooting the first film back-to-back with a sequel prior to production being shut down in order to recalibrate the ending. Last year’s film grossed a whopping $255 million globally from a $10-15 million budget.
