Jordan, Brolin Sought For “A Prophet” Remake

Michael B. Jordan and Josh Brolin are reportedly being sought for the lead roles in the English-language remake of acclaimed French prison drama “A Prophet” at Sony Pictures.

That Hashtag Show scored the news, saying that director Sam Raimi is hoping to start production by the end of this year. Dennis Lehane penned the script several years ago with Raimi coming onboard early last year.

It seems like the project is only now moving forward. Tahar Rahim and Niels Arestrup starred in the Jacques Audiard-directed original about a vulnerable Arabic man and petty criminal who gets thrust into a hellish prison, and discovers greater opportunities for success than he ever possessed outside of the bars.

No release date is currently in place for the project.
