Hugh Jackman and Noomi Rapace are in talks for leading roles in Michael Mann’s Enzo Ferrari biopic.
Jackman would play Ferrari himself with Rapace playing his estranged wife Linda. The casting comes over a year after the previously attached Christian Bale exited the project.
Based on Brock Yates’ 1991 book “Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races,” Ferrari redefined the high-powered Italian sports car and almost single-handedly created Formula One racing.
Mann has reportedly merged two scripts, one by Troy Kennedy Martin (“The Italian Job”) and another by David Rayfield (“Out of Africa”) to create the project. The film will primarily be set in 1957 and largely focuses on the rivalry between Ferrari and Maserati.
