A new rumor has cropped up that both Armie Hammer and Alexander Skarsgard are up for the titular role opposite Elisabeth Moss in “Upgrade” writer/director Leigh Whannell’s new take on “The Invisible Man” for Universal Pictures.
Plot details of this version of the HG Wells story are unknown, but this is the first film in the studio’s shift in strategy following its abandoning its big-budget interconnected “Dark Universe” concept in favor of standalone films with more modest budgets that embrace “creative directors with distinctive visions”.
That Hashtag Show announced the report about the two stars possibly up for the film. According to them, their role will be that of Adrian Griffin – “a billionaire sociopath who made his money by developing an invisibility suit for the Department of Defense.” Moss will reportedly play a character named Cecilia Kass.
Whannell is also co-producing the film which is expected to begin shooting in May.
