Filming is set to resume on 20th Century Fox’s “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” in February, essentially kicking off at the time the third and final film in the saga was originally targeting for release.
Production on the film was halted due to a serious on set injury to leading man Dylan O’Brien earlier this year with the actor given proper time to make a full recovery. The film should now hit the big screen a little under a year later than originally planed – January 12th 2018.
Like the previous two films, Wes Ball will direct from a screenplay by T.S. Nowlin based on the novels by James Dashner. Co-stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, Ki Hong Lee and Dexter Darden are all expected to return.
