Sylvester Stallone has dropped a video on Instagram indicating that filming is now over on “Rambo: Last Blood,” the fifth film in the series which has been filming in Bulgaria for several months.
Stallone reprises his role of John Rambo who is now living on a ranch in Arizona, trying to pick up casual work wherever he can. Soon his friend and estate manager informs him that her granddaughter (Yvette Monreal) went missing in Mexico.
This leads to Rambo heading south and teaming up with a journalist (Paz Vega) whose half-sister has also been kidnapped. They uncover a sex-trafficking ring and Rambo has to use all his skills to save the girls and bring down a vicious crime lord (Peris-Mencheta).
Speaking in the video, Stallone says: “Well that was it, that was my final shot. And Rambo 5 Last Blood, at least that’s what they are calling it, thus far. And it’s been an amazing journey, it really has. This character was presented to me in 1980. And no one wanted to do it. As a matter of fact, I was the eleventh choice. People looked at this as almost as a cursed project. I looked at it and said this was an amazing opportunity.”
Recently Stallone indicated that “Creed 2” will be his last appearance as Rocky Balboa, and the new film is widely expected to be his final outing in the Rambo role. No release date has yet been announced.
