Disney+ Plans Two Marvel Documentary Series

Disney Plans Two Marvel Documentary Series

Ahead of its investors presentation tomorrow where many of the details of its streaming service will be revealed, details of ten unscripted series currently in the works for Disney+ have come to light.

The Live Feed reports that two of the ten series will be Marvel docuseries. One is “Marvel’s 616,” an anthological documentary series exploring “the intersection between Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters, and creators and the world outside your window.” Different filmmakers tackle the episodes which look at the real world context of Marvel Comics stories and their impact.

The other is “Marvel’s Hero Project” which looks at the positive changes several young heroes are making in their own communities – inspiring kids who have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness and are celebrated for the true superheroes they are.

Also in the works are “Earthkeepers” which is a cinematic documentary series about conservationists, cooking competition show “Be Our Chef” which seeks diverse families to create dishes for Disney theme parks, “Cinema Relics” which looks at props and costumes of famed films, and the Kristen Bell-produced “Encore!” in which high school musical castmates reunite years later to recreate their performance.

There’s also “(Re)Connect” which looks at families with modern day relatable issues, “Rogue Trip” which is a travel guide about going to non-touristy holiday spots, “Shop Class” in which inventive engineering students compete, and an untitled Walt Disney Imagineering documentary series.

More details to come.
