Dafoe To Voice Ryuk In Netflix’s “Death Note”

Though he’s busy filming the “Justice League” movie, Willem Dafoe has also closed a deal to voice Ryuk the Shinigami in the live-action film adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s popular Japanese manga “Death Note”.

The story follows a high school student (Nat Wolff) who comes across a supernatural notebook that gives him the ability to kill anyone by writing their name while picturing their face.

He soon begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life. Margaret Qualley, Keith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi and Shea Whigham.

Adam Wingard (“The Guest,” “You’re Next”) helms the project which Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Jason Hoffs and Masi Oka will produce. It will debut next year on Netflix.
