Cancelled “Darth Maul” Game Artwork

When Lucasfilm was sold off to Disney, one of the famous casualties of that sale was the exciting sounding video game “Star Wars 1313,” a third person narrative game that tied to Boba Fett and in which players ultimately reached the lowest level (1313) on the city planet of Coruscant – a dark place at the planet’s very core.

That isn’t the only cancelled “Star Wars” game over the years though, and this weekend Game Informer has concept art and details about one that was made that would’ve centered on ‘Phantom Menace’ bad guy Darth Maul.

In development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U, the game would have seen players start the iconic villain’s story when he was around ten years old and ultimately lead directly into his appearance in ‘The Phantom Menace’.

A few months ago game developer Dan Borth, who worked on the project, said in a Reddit AMA that the aim of the game was: “we wanted to show what he went through to become a Sith. Showcase the torture the Emperor put him through. Show how you as the player would have made the same mistakes and ended up a Sith.”

This week, new concept art from the game has gone up at Art Station showcasing some character designs. Just click on the sketch below to see a full gallery.
