Westbrook Studios and Davis Entertainment are set to develop the hip hop musical “Summertime” inspired by the 1991 song by DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith.
Screen Gems will distribute the film which Peter Saji (“Black-ish”) will direct and Smith will produce. Plot details for the film are being kept under wraps.
Jon Mone, John Davis, John Fox, Jeremy Stein and Giselle Johnson all produce. Saji makes his feature directing debut with the film.
