Rudolph, Portman Set Deals With Apple

Emmy winner Maya Rudolph will reunite with Alan Yang (“Parks and Recreation”) and Matt Hubbard (“30 Rock”) on a new untitled comedy series for Apple TV+.

Having been handed a straight to series order and produced by Universal Television, Rudolph will play a woman whose seemingly perfect life is upended after her husband leaves her with nothing but $87 billion.

Rudolph isn’t the only one making friends with the Cupertino tech giant today. Oscar-winner Natalie Portman and producing partner Sophie Mas have inked a first-look deal with Apple.

Under the multi-year agreement, Apple TV+ will have a first look on television projects to be developed and produced by Portman and Mas through their MountainA label.

Portman, Mas and Apple recently worked together on the recently announced 1960s Baltimore-set limited series “Lady in the Lake” which marks Portman’s TV acting debut and co-stars Lupita Nyong’o.
