With Marvel Television essentially folding and its remnants now falling under the Marvel Studios umbrella, one lingering question is that of the fate of its animated series.
With so many cancellations of its series in recent years, the proposed slate of Hulu animated comedies and the “Helstrom” series are about the only projects left that are still alive from the group (aside from the final season of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” which has already been shot).
This week filmmaker Kevin Smith shared an update on the proposed “Howard the Duck” series on his podcast Fatman Beyond, saying: “Now, Marvel TV won’t cease to exist; it’s just becoming this different version. I hear the Hulu shows are still alive. So far, so good for Howard the Duck. I’ll let you know if anything happens.”
“Howard the Duck” along with “MODOK,” “Tigra & Dazzler” and “Hit-Monkey” were previously all announced as in the works for Hulu. Smith is currently on tour with the “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” roadshow.
