With Blizzard Entertainment’s BlizzCon convention underway in Los Angeles, the acclaimed video game publisher and developer opened the event with the announcement of two highly anticipated game titles – “Diablo IV” and “Overwatch 2”. Announcement videos for them have also been released and can be seen below.

“Diablo” has been a popular franchise for decades with the third game in 2012 is the best-selling PC game of that year and has sold well over 30 million copies to date. In the fourth game, players will attempt to bring hope back to the world by vanquishing evil in all its vile incarnations – from cannibalistic demon-worshipping cultists to the all-new drowned undead that emerges from the coastlines to drag their victims to a watery grave.

For the first time in the series, Sanctuary will be a contiguous, seamless landmass comprising diverse regions ranging from the burning desert of Kejhistan, to the verdant werewolf-infested forests of Scosglen, to the harsh and rugged wilderness of the Dry Steppes. There are also three new character classes – Barbarian, Sorceress and Druid.

The “Overwatch” sequel follows on from the 2016 original game which was released to widespread acclaim from critics and gamers alike and grossed over $1 billion net profit in its first year of release. It helped spark the blossoming E-Sports genre still has a large following even as other rivals like “Fortnite” has sucked the air out of the room.

The follow-up will see players take on the roles of the world’s heroes in co-operative missions that will see them team up, power up and stand together against an outbreak of threats around the globe while also getting to battle each other in the next evolution of competitive play.

Existing accomplishments and loot collections from players’ time on the first game will transfer over. Along with the current roster of players, a new generation of heroes and maps that widen the scope of the world will be incorporated.
