“Among Us” Becomes An Animated Series

Innersloth

CBS Eye Animation Productions are teaming up with independent game studio Innersloth for an animated TV series based on the highly popular video game “Among Us”.

The series is based on the premise of the game in which members of your starship crew have been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone.

Players have to root out the ‘Impostor’ or fall victim to its murderous designs. Titmouse (“Star Trek: Lower Decks”) will serve as the animation studio for the series.

No network or streamer is currently attached, but conversations are said to be ongoing. As the series is covered by The Animation Guild rather than the WGA, it’s unaffected by the writer’s strike.

“Infinity Train” creator Owen Dennis will serve as creator and executive producer on the project as part of his overall deal with CBS Studios. Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina also executive produce.

Launched in 2018 but exploding in popularity during the pandemic, the game had nearly 500 million monthly active users at one point along with more than 4 billion views on YouTube and more than 1.22 billion viewing sessions on Twitch.
