FOX has handed out a script commitment for a half-hour, single-camera comedy series based on the 2005 Will Smith feature “Hitch”.
Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (“Made of Honor”) are penning the series described as a workplace comedy that explores dating and sexual politics.
Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television will exec produce the series. The original film grossed nearly $370 million worldwide.
The project marks the latest on the ever growing list of movies being remade as TV series for next season.
