Though still three months away, Craig Gillespie’s “Supergirl” film appears to be having some mild issues finding its sound.
Originally, “Game of Thrones” regular Ramin Djawadi was set as the film’s composer until word came last month that Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) had replaced Djawadi.
Now, the official site for the film (via Coming Soon) is listing Claudia Sarne as the film’s composer. Sarne did the scores for films such as “The Book of Eli,” “Triple 9,” “Broken City,” “A Million Little Pieces,” and “Lost in the Jungle” as well as shows like “Shining Girls,” “Black Mirror,” “The Defiant Ones,” “Outcast” and “Dear Mama”.
Why the change again is unknown but James Gunn’s “Superman” saw a similar creative change in April last year, that film bringing in David Fleming as co-composer alongside the originally hired John Murphy.
The film sees Milly Alcock reprise her role as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”
The film co-stars Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
“Supergirl” will be released in cinemas on June 26th 2026.
