Featurette: Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day”

Universal Pictures International

Universal Pictures has unveiled a new featurette for Steven Spielberg’s UFO movie “Disclosure Day,” the clip coming in the wake of yesterday’s ‘Big Game Spot’ release.

Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell lead the cast of the film that marks Spielberg’s first directorial effort since 2022’s “The Fablemans”.

The synopsis reads: If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.

Spileberg himself can be heard in the featurette explaining his central idea for the film:

“I’ve always been fascinated with things. that cannot be explained, and I’ve made a lot of movies about things that cannot be explained. From sharks to saucers.

When I was just a little kid, I remember developing a real curiosity about the sky at night and what’s happening up there and also not the possibility, but the guarantee that there is life off this planet.

People’s questions about what is not only going on in our skies, but what is going on in our worlds, in our realities has reached a critical mass of people’s complete fascination with are we alone or are we not alone? And if someone knows we’re not alone, why haven’t we been told?”

David Koepp penned the film’s script based on a story by Spielberg, while Janusz Kamiński served as cinematographer and John Williams has been hired to compose the score.

Kristie Macosko Krieger produces “Disclosure Day” which opens in cinemas on June 12th.
