Shooting Stars
Peacock original film “Shooting Stars,” which serves as an origin story of basketball legend LeBron James, has become Peacock’s most-watched original film to date over it first four weeks of availability.

Since its June 2nd premiere, “Shooting Stars” has remained the #1 original film every weekend on Peacock. Specific viewership data has not been made available. Peacock currently streams nine original films, including “Praise This,” “They/Them” and “Meet Cute”. [Source: Deadline]

Apex
Brad Pitt and “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski’s previously untitled Formula One film at Apple TV finally has a name – “Apex”. Filming is set to take place on-site for the first time at the British Grand Prix with Pitt playing an aged, retired racer named Sonny Hayes who helps a novice driver (Damson Idris). [Source: ESPN]

21 Jump Street
A new rumor has suggested Sony Pictures is reportedly developing a “21 Jump Street” spin-off movie that would center around Brie Larson’s Molly Tracey character who appeared in the Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill-led 2012 film adaptation from Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Just Cause
Square Enix has cancelled development of the “Just Cause Mobile” game with the early access version having been pulled from digital stores.

Revealed back in 2020, Just Cause Mobile was billed as a free-to-play top-down action shooter with a single-player story campaign, a 30-person competitive multiplayer, and four-player co-op missions. [Source: VGC]

Sex Education
Netflix has premiered the teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of its comedy “Sex Education” which returns on September 21st.

Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Aimee-Lou Wood, Connor Windells and Gillian Anderson return and are joined by the likes of Dan Levy and Jodie Turner-Smith in the new season.

Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier – their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. It’s a culture shock for all the Moordale students – they thought they were progressive but this new college is another level.
