Released with little fanfare last month, the Jennifer Garner-led Apple TV+ series “The Last Thing He Told Me” has become the streamer’s most-watched limited series ever.
According to Nielsen, the series reached 4.5 million unique viewers in its first 31 days of streaming. The series premiere reached 3.4 million viewers – making it Apple’s most-watched drama episode of the year so far.
The Reese Witherspoon-produced series has now taken a position as the streaming service’s third highest-rated title of 2023, behind only “Ted Lasso” and “Shrinking”.
Its overall figure also puts it ahead of some of the more high-profile titles on the streamer’s drama slate since it launched in 2019.
This includes the Taron Egerton-led “Black Bird” (2.6 million), the Gary Oldman-led first season of “Slow Horses” (1.9 million), the Luke Evans-led “Echo” (1.4 million) and the Elizabeth Moss-led “Shining Girls” (1.3 million).
An adaptation of Laura Dave’s novel, Garner plays a woman who finds herself tasked to protect her stepdaughter (Angourie Rice) when her husband (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) mysteriously disappears.
Dave co-created the series alongside showrunner Josh Singer, and the show wrapped its run this past Friday.
