ABC has ordered a second season of its hit procedural series “Will Trent” starring Ramon Rodriguez. Based on Karin Slaughter’s novels of the same name, the series follows a special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations who grew up in the foster care system and vowed to ensure no one is abandoned like he was.

Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin and Sonja Sohn co-star, with the first season finale to air May 2nd. The first season was ABC’s top new drama this season in total viewers with 9.9 million, and Adults 18-49 scoring a 1.65 rating. [Source: Variety]

Citadel
Netflix’s costly spy thriller “Citadel” has scored a massive $25 million in tax credits to relocate from the UK to California for its second season. The California Film Commission revealed the news this week.

A second season of the Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden-led series has not been officially greenlit, but deals are being finalized, and a formal pickup is expected to be announced soon. The first season premieres next Friday (April 28th). [Source: Deadline]

The Shards
HBO is planning a drama series adaptation of “Less Than Zero” and “American Psycho” author Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast and novel “The Shards”. Ellis will write, and executive produces with Nick Hall and Brian Young.

The story is set in 1981 and tracks a group of privileged Los Angeles High School friends as a serial killer strikes across the city. [Source: Deadline]

How to Stop Time
Benedict Cumberbatch will star in a six-part TV series adaptation of Matt Haig’s best-selling novel “How to Stop Time” in the lead role of Tom Hazard. Shooting takes place in London and Europe next year.

Tomas Alfredson (“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”) firects while DC Moore (“Sky”) is attached to write. Cumberbatch plays Tom – a seemingly ordinary man who suffers from a very rare condition called anageria, which has kept him alive for centuries. [Source: TV Line]

Cruel Summer
Freeform has announced the return of its series “Cruel Summer,” along with the final season of “grown-ish”. The former will debut June 5th with a two-episode second season premiere ahead of weekly releases.

The new season sees Andre Johnson Jr., aka Junior (Marcus Scribner) making moves to step out of his sister’s shadow and become a big man on campus. The later begins June 28th. [Source: Deadline]
