More details have emerged about the upcoming “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” series with the full list of directors being released as part of the Lucasfilm Showcase at Star Wars Celebration.

The helmers include series creator/showrunner and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” helmer Jon Watts, celebrated filmmaker David Lowery (“The Green Knight”), this year’s Oscar winners The Daniels (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”), and Jake Scherier (Marvel’s “Thunderbolts”).

They’re joined by “The Mandalorian” regular Bryce Dallas Howard and “Minari” helmer Lee Isaac Chung, who recently joined the “Star Wars” universe directing the mostly standalone third episode of the current “The Mandalorian” third season run.

Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy compares the new series to classic Amblin tales, saying it’s about kids but not necessarily a kids show. She adds that filming is finished, and the show is currently in post-production.

Producer Dave Filoni says the series is “a story about a group of kids… who want to go on a big adventure”, with Watts suggesting the idea to Favreau during the production of “Spider-Man: Far from Home”.

The central kid stars – Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith – joined Jude Law (who plays a Jedi hiding out) on stage to promote the series, and Law says: “I was six years old when this galaxy gripped me for the first time. I’ve been preparing ever since. It was a true dream come true.”

The kids meanwhile charmed the room, saying they got into the “Star Wars” franchise because of their dads. Several behind-the-scenes images were shown, and the first trailer was screened exclusively for attendees in the room only with glimpses of pirates, X-Wings, scared parents and more.

Finally, Oscar nominee Kerry Condon was announced as joining the cast. The series will release sometime later this year.
