“Thor” and “X-Men: First Class” screenwriter Ashley Edward Miller will pen the film adaptation of the graphic novel “The Gray Area” which aims to be a potential franchise launcher.
Fan-owned entertainment company Legion M is backing the proejct based on John Romita Jr. and Glen Brunswick’s 2004 comic series about a corrupt cop and womanizer Rudy Chance who finds himself in a “gray area” between Heaven and Hell following his death.
Given a second chance to redeem himself, Chance finds he now has extraordinary powers to fight evil in the afterlife, but his own dark side threatens to eternally damn his soul.
Miller has been serving most recently as writer and executive producer on Netflix’s animated series “Dota: Dragon’s Blood” which is now in its third season.
David Uslan, Terri Lubaroff, David Baxter, Jeff Annison and Paul Scanlan will produce.
