Untitled Steve Martin Project
A two-part documentary film exploring the life and career of comedian Steve Martin has landed at Apple Original Films. Oscar winner Morgan Neville (“20 Feet From Stardom,” “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”) directs and produces the as-yet-untitled films from A24 and Tremolo Productions.
The announcement comes as Martin recently told THR he’s considering winding his screen career down when “Only Murders in the Building” comes to an end. [Source: Apple Insider]
Golden Globes
The Golden Globe Awards could reportedly be back on NBC in 2023, with the network targeting a potential airdate of Tuesday, January 10th, according to sources for the trades. However, they advise such a broadcast is “not a done deal” with no final agreement as yet. [Source: THR]
Those Who Stayed
Red Arrow Studios International and FILM.UA are teaming for “Those Who Stayed,” an anthology comedy/drama series about the early days of the invasion of Ukraine earlier this year. Anastasia Lodkina serves as showrunner.
Each episode will showcase the work of one gifted Ukrainian filmmaker and will focus on the immediate aftermath of the February 24th invasion by Russia. Each episode follows one group of characters whose paths cross with characters from different episodes. [Source: Deadline]

Florian Zeller’s “The Father” follow-up film “The Son,” starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby and Anthony Hopkins, has set a November 11th release date in theatres. [Source: Sony Pictures Classics]
Spy Kids
DJ Cotrona (“Shazam!: Fury of the Gods”) will join Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Billy Magnussen, Everly Carganilla and newcomer Connor Esterson in Robert Rodriguez’s latest “Spy Kids” installment for Skydance and Spyglass. Racer Max will co-write the pic. [Source: Deadline]
The Pale Blue Eye
Scott Cooper’s “The Pale Blue Eye” has scored an R-rating from the MPA for “some violent content and bloody images”. The Netflix film has yet to set a premiere date.
Christian Bale plays a detective looking into a series of murders that took place at the West Point Military Academy in 1830. Christian Bale, Gillian Anderson, Robert Duvall, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lucy Boynton, Fred Hechinger and Toby Jones co-star along with Harry Melling as a young cadet who will become author Edgar Allan Poe.
